I recently discovered this drawing by Jean Cocteau through this tweet from "Association Miskatonic" (a very active HPL-centered organisation). Lovecraft was, during the late 50s and the 60s, studied and admired by many french writers and artists, as a curious litterary object. His image changed with the rise of science fiction, and he became more of a Pop culture icon with the Metal Hurlant mutation.
